Veterinary Assistant Job at North Dakota State University

Teaching responsibilities: The teaching responsibilities for this position include: 1) Develop and teach innovative courses related to livestock evaluation; 2) Coach the NDSU Livestock Evaluation Team; 3) Teach additional courses consistent with the successful applicant's expertise and departmental needs; 4) Advise undergraduate students and student organizations; and 5) Provide leadership for departmental undergraduate recruiting efforts.

Extension responsibilities: The extension responsibilities for this position include: 1) Provide leadership, resource support and program coordination for youth extension programming related to livestock with a measurable impact on enhancing life skills of youth, adults and volunteers; 2) Prepare extension programming materials (e.g. bulletins, presentations, web-based publications, etc.) related to youth livestock projects; 3) Provide program leadership, interpret, and integrate information with youth livestock events throughout the state; 4) Evaluate and market the impact of educational programs delivered; and 5) Participate in professional development opportunities that enhance personal and professional effectiveness related to the duties of the position.

The Department of Animal Sciences is seeking a quality individual to join the 28 members of the Animal Sciences faculty which encompasses physiology, nutrition, genetics, meat science, management of livestock, and the utilization of livestock products.
