Emergency Clinic Veterinary Technician, Small Animal Emergency Service, Raleigh

Combination of training and experience required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

For RIF priority purposes, this is equivalent to salary grade 60 .

This position is at the advanced level. If no applicants apply who meet the required competencies and education/experience requirements, then other applicants may be considered.

Graduation from an AVMA fully accredited two or four year Veterinary Technician program.
Licensed/Registered/Certified by any state.
Prefer at least 2 year emergency or critical care experience.
Ability to triage patients and know how to prioritize patients.
Computer skills.
Good team player.
Ability to work under stressful conditions-the small animal emergency & triage service is a 24/7 operation.

The Small Animal Emergency & Triage Service is a 24/7 operation.
Duties include, patient care and treatments, administer oral, IV and IM meds, assist with diagnostics.
Teach technical skills to students.
Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placements and drug calculations.
